As a Support Service Professional (SSP), you will partner one-on-on with a person living with a disability to assist him in acquiring, maintaining, and improving the skills necessary to live independently, pursue employment goals, build relationships and engage in his community.
The SSP's role consists of assisting, supporting, and guiding in the general areas of self-care, health maintenance, decision making, home management, managing personal resources, communication, mobility and transportation, relationship development and socialization, personal adjustment/behavior management, participating in community functions and activities, and use of community resources.
The SSP is also responsible for service documentation and various reporting obligations.
We are currently seeking support for a polite, helpful, musically talented young adult who is looking for a reliable, honest, calm and experienced individual to partner with him! The ideal candidate would serve as a model and guide for socially appropriate skills, safe, productive community involvement, and seek to develop an authentic trusting relationship.
You must be willing to get to know the individual and his preferences and needs such as favorite foods, desired activities and areas of interest; including vacation planning, trains and super heroes.
You will support him to pursue those things in his home and community, plan his days and manage his feelings, emotions and sensory needs that may trigger the potential for aggressive behaviors.
A successful applicant will be able to adapt to change quickly and have a sense of humor.
The work is community based, meaning you are working in the home and local community of the person you support.
Often you will interact with family members, co-workers and other support team members, so respect, teamwork and accountability is key.
Full and part-time day, weekday positions available.
Schedule can be discussed and based on participant's need and candidate's availability.
Candidates with driver's license and access to reliable transportation, meeting all state minimum safety, registration and insurance requirements are prioritized.

Participate in all required trainings and meetings Fill out and submit daily service notes and timekeeping documents Communicate promptly and in advance regarding all scheduling concerns Report any health and safety concerns appropriately that arise when working with the participant Education:
Nursing License CNA NADD Competency Based Certification BCBA or RBT Bachelor's Degree or higher in:
Psychology Special Education Counseling Social Work Gerontology Other desired qualifications include:
